Automatic gearbox jerks
A jerky automatic gearbox often comes down to old or low fluid, a worn solenoid or the control unit software. Say which shift it jerks on, whether it happens cold or warm, and when the gearbox fluid was last changed.

Frequently asked questions
Does automatic gearbox fluid need changing?
Many manufacturers say "filled for life", but workshops often suggest a change every few tens of thousands of kilometres. Check the service book and ask what they recommend for your gearbox.
Can I keep driving?
If the gearbox goes into limp mode or the car will not move, stop driving. With mild jerks a trip to the workshop is fine, but long drives on a failing gearbox make the repair bigger.
How much does it cost?
The workshop sets the price. The offer shows the workshop's "from" price; the final price is clear once the car has been looked at. Remondikoda does not set or suggest prices.
Who chooses the workshop?
You do. You see offers with time, price and reviews and choose yourself. Remondikoda does not assign workshops.
