Clutch slips
A slipping clutch shows up as revs rising without the car speeding up, most of all in a high gear on a hill. Usually the friction plate is worn, sometimes oil has got onto it. Give the mileage, whether the clutch has been replaced before and if it bites only at the top of the pedal.

Frequently asked questions
How long can I drive on a slipping clutch?
Nobody can say in advance. Slipping speeds up wear and overheats the flywheel, so the sooner it is replaced, the less chance the flywheel is damaged as well.
Is the flywheel replaced at the same time?
On cars with a dual-mass flywheel it is always checked while the clutch is out. Whether it needs replacing becomes clear once the gearbox is off. Ask whether the quote includes the flywheel.
How much does it cost?
The workshop sets the price. The offer shows the workshop's "from" price; the final price is clear once the car has been looked at. Remondikoda does not set or suggest prices.
Who chooses the workshop?
You do. You see offers with time, price and reviews and choose yourself. Remondikoda does not assign workshops.
