Rust on the body or underbody
Surface rust on a sill or wing is mostly cosmetic, but a rotten floor, sill or suspension mount is a safety and inspection issue. Add photos and say whether the rust has gone through the metal or is still bubbling under the paint.

Frequently asked questions
Will rust fail the inspection?
Cosmetic rust is generally not a fault. Corrosion through load-bearing parts such as the floor, sills and suspension mounts is a fault, and sometimes a dangerous one.
Can rust be stopped?
Early on the area is cleaned back, treated and painted. Where the metal has rotted through, it is cut out and a new section welded in. Underbody rustproofing slows further damage.
How much does it cost?
The workshop sets the price. The offer shows the workshop's "from" price; the final price is clear once the car has been looked at. Remondikoda does not set or suggest prices.
Who chooses the workshop?
You do. You see offers with time, price and reviews and choose yourself. Remondikoda does not assign workshops.
