Engine stalls while driving
An engine that cuts out while driving often points to the fuel pump, fuel filter, a sensor or a power feed. Steering and brakes go heavy once it stops, so treat it as a safety issue. Say whether it stalls at idle, when accelerating or once hot.

Frequently asked questions
What do I do if it stalls in traffic?
Hazards on, hold the wheel firmly and press the brake harder than usual, as the assistance is gone. Pull over somewhere safe and do not carry on driving until the cause is found.
Could it be the battery?
Less often than people think. A running engine is fed by the alternator, not the battery. Fuel delivery, the crankshaft sensor or a loose connection are more common, and diagnostics usually pins it down.
How much does it cost?
The workshop sets the price. The offer shows the workshop's "from" price; the final price is clear once the car has been looked at. Remondikoda does not set or suggest prices.
Who chooses the workshop?
You do. You see offers with time, price and reviews and choose yourself. Remondikoda does not assign workshops.
