Crack or chip in the windscreen

A small chip can often be repaired if it is outside the driver line of sight and away from the edge. A crack spreads with frost and temperature swings, so it pays to act early. Add a photo and say whether there is a rain sensor or camera on the glass.

Frequently asked questions

Can a chip be repaired?

If it is small and has not turned into a crack, it can usually be filled with resin. Until you get to a workshop, cover it with clear tape to keep dirt and moisture out.

Why does the camera matter?

If a driver-assist camera sits on the windscreen, it has to be calibrated after the glass is replaced. Ask the workshop whether they do it themselves.

How much does it cost?

The workshop sets the price. The offer shows the workshop's "from" price; the final price is clear once the car has been looked at. Remondikoda does not set or suggest prices.

Who chooses the workshop?

You do. You see offers with time, price and reviews and choose yourself. Remondikoda does not assign workshops.
